Most of my life experiences have involved being an artist — painting, sculpting, photography and anything crafty. When I eventually recognized my strong interest in skin care, and completed my training at the Blanche MacDonald Centre in Vancouver, BC, I was led to the wonderful world of waxing. I knew I had stumbled upon a career choice that would satisfy my artistic being while providing me the opportunity to give hands-on care to others.

When I moved to Missoula, Montana in May 2009, I was determined to give Missoula something I felt it needed — a studio devoted to waxing. After opening the Grizzly Bare Waxing Studio in 2009, I was able to specialize in hair removal for 8 years while also adding amazing women to grow the business. During this time, I also realized I had a strong desire to help people who struggle with skin conditions, and I needed a larger space to make this happen. This was how BARE wax + skin came about!

In 2016 I became a Certified Acne Specialist with Face Reality Skincare and spent almost ten years clearing acne for the people of Missoula.

Now it’s time to expand my reach. My personalized approach to skincare and acne treatment is now available to you, wherever you are in the US!

This journey has allowed me to follow my dream and to help others feel great about themselves. As you will see, skincare is my passion, and I love what I do!

History

Founded in November 2009 by Canadian esthetician Jessica Rouse, Grizzly Bare Waxing Studio emerged to address Missoula’s need for dedicated waxing services. Jessica, a graduate of the Blanche MacDonald Centre in Vancouver, BC, combined her artistic background with a passion for skincare to create a studio emphasizing precision and personalized care.

In 2018, the studio expanded and rebranded as BARE wax + skin, introducing comprehensive acne care services alongside its renowned waxing treatments. Jessica became a Certified Acne Specialist with Face Reality Skincare in 2016, enabling her to offer effective solutions for clients struggling with acne.

After 15 years of operating a brick-and-mortar location, BARE transitioned to a virtual skincare consulting model, continuing to provide expert guidance and personalized skincare regimens to clients. 

Jessica’s commitment to excellence and individualized care remains the cornerstone of BARE wax + skin’s philosophy, ensuring clients receive the highest quality service tailored to their unique needs.
